For the final piece in my "Escape" series, I continued to discuss the idea of participating in dangerous activities for the sake of escaping life's realities. The focus of this image was on drugs, but more specifically LSD. Also known as acid, LSD is a hallucinogenic drug which causes many users to see or hear things that do not exist. Due to this, there have been countless cases where individuals on LSD have committed major crimes, including murder/suicide. In my photo, I juxtapose the suffocating LSD user to the fun and sparkly pink background that parallels the idea of this dangerous and deadly drug being fun. Furthermore, the kaleidoscope effect that was used in the other images in this series persists in this photo as well to emphasize the drug's hallucinating effect.
